Beauty & Lifestyle

Me and my husband are currently staying at Hoar Cross Hall. It's a gorgeous venue in Burton-upon-Trent (for my friends wedding).
We had a look on their website and saw that they do afternoon tea, and you all know how much I love afternoon tea!
I thought I would write a blog post for you so you can see how lovely it is!

They offer 3 different afternoon tea's which you can find:HERE

I would advice you to book beforehand to avoid disappointment.
We certainty weren't disappointed with this afternoon tea (we did the classic option - £20 each). You get a selection of finger sandwiches, plain and fruit scone with jam & clotted cream and a selection of homemade cakes/macarons.
They do offer a box if you can't eat all of the food - we were stuffed so had to! :)

We would highly recommend this afternoon tea if you are ever in the area. When you book a night stay, you get breakfast and use of the spa facilities (in our room we had a jet bath, so it felt like a spa in the bathroom)

If anyone knows me well, you will know that one of my favourite things to do is go for afternoon tea. I love relaxing with lot's of tea, sandwiches and cake for a few hours enjoying the surroundings.

Me and my husband decided to book a day off work and book our afternoon tea at Crewe Hall. We have been here a few times before and we were very lucky to get married in such a beautiful venue - It's based in Crewe, Cheshire, so if you are ever in the area, I would highly recommend trying this out (booking is essential).

We managed to purchase a deal through Groupon which was an amazing deal -we are both never disappointed with the food here, it's always to a high standard.

There are two options when booking this afternoon tea. There is the traditional and prosecco version.

You have the option to choose which flavour tea you would like, but you have the option to have traditional breakfast tea (which is always a favourite of mine). You can also choose a variety of coffee (unlimited at no extra cost).

There are a selection of sandwiches, fruit and plain scones with clotted cream and jam and a range of homemade cakes.

If you are would like to book, you can follow the link: HERE
The menu is also available on their website.

Hello Sweetie Cupcakery is a cafe in York Place (arcade) in Newcastle-Under-Lyme town centre. If you are looking for a cafe that has everything to please your sweet tooth, then this is a place that you need to visit!
The staff are super friendly and welcoming and it makes the whole experience so much nicer.

They have dotted around, quotes on the walls (which are cute touches) & old fashioned pictures of Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra which gives the place a nice 1950's/1960's feel!

They are known for their yummy cupcakes which are all home made and they taste so good! There are also other home made bakes too, including these two which are traditional polish cheesecake & rocky road.

My husband went for the Kit Kat cupcake & I went for the Cookies & Cream.
There's so many more choices from: Crunchie, Maple & Pecan, Jaffa Cake etc.

They not only do sweet treats, but also savory choices too! I had a bagel with cream cheese & salmon and it tasted lovely! My husband had a toastie - with a choice of filling from, cheese, ham & cheese or ham, cheese & tomato.

There is a wide range of hot and cold drinks available from tea, coffees, hot chocolate, milkshakes.

A loyalty card is available for you to collect stamps. Once you have collected 6 stamps you can get a free cupcake!

It really is a lovely cafe, and I would highly recommend going there if you are ever in the area :)

If you are anything like me and one of your favourite things to do is have a nice cuppa and a slice of cake, then this cute coffee shop is right up your street. Tsp is situated in Hanley, Stoke-On-Trent within the Cultural Quarter and has been mine and my husbands favourite coffee shops for a while now, and when I found out that they were doing high tea, I jumped at the chance at trying it out. As I surprised my husband for his birthday,I thought it was the perfect time!
Tsp are known for their yummy cupcakes. It's been a bit of a tradition as we go there at a weekend and enjoy a hot drink & a cake and watch the world go by. It's a really friendly coffee shop, and the staff that work there are so friendly and helpful, which makes the experience much more better! My favourite cupcake is the ferrero rocher. They offer other food and beverages too, from sandwiches, salads and bagels & latte, filter coffee, and what's called a cupcake (which is a milkshake with a whole cupcake on top!)

There is seating downstairs and upstairs, but you have to spot a space quick as it gets busy on a weekend!
This is a nice little section where you can listen to music :)
Who is this little one?

Okay, so onto the high tea (doesn't it look so lovely!). It costs £26 for 2 people and booking is essential. £10 deposit is taken to secure your booking and you pay the rest when you arrive.
There is a selection of finger sandwiches, bagels, cupcakes, scones and macarons. Tea and coffee is included too.

One thing I love about afternoon tea, is that you have everything you need for lunch and it's so filling!
The sandwiches/bagels tasted lovely, lot's of flavour and I loved how cute the sizes were. The idea of a scone on top of a cupcake is a really nice touch from the traditional afternoon tea.
I have a love for macaron's, and these were no exception - crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle! They tasted divine and If Tsp ever offer macaron's in a gift box (like ladauree) then I would definitely buy them (please? haha).
I have never tried Tsp's brownies before as I have always gone for a cupcake, but these were gorgeous! Rich in flavour, but just how a brownie should be - not too sweet, just right :)
It definitely went down well with the both of us anwyay!
Nothing is more British than having a nice cup of tea, and you are given loose leaf tea and this cute little bottle which holds the milk in. I love little things like this.

Overall, I would highly recommend going here if you are ever in the area. We will be visiting again soon and will be booking high tea again in the near future.

Let me know if you know of any other places you have been where you have enjoyed having afternoon tea - I would love to read them :)
